Orthodontic staff can cause malpractice claims; you can also prevent them. This webinar, presented by two experts at handling and adjudicating orthodontic malpractice claims, will use summaries of actual claims and discuss solutions that will enable you to reduce exposure in your office to claims and/or regulatory complaints.

After this lecture you will be able to:

1.) Recognize potentially problem patients before treatment begins.
2.) Discuss key staff activities that can prevent or minimize exposure to claims.
3.) Explain how to handle office accidents to prevent development of malpractice claims.

Elizabeth Franklin is the claims manager at AAO Services, Inc. She and her staff handle the orthodontic malpractice claims for AAOIC (a RRG). She has worked in the property-casualty insurance claims field more than 30 years. For the past 17 years she has specialized in handling and managing orthodontic malpractice claims.

Jessica Barbachem is the claims representative at AAO Services, Inc. She joined the company in January 2014 and is familiar with orthodontics and legal liability issues that typically present in malpractice claims.

Both speakers are skilled at investigating, evaluating and handling orthodontic malpractice claims.

Each session consisting of lecture and audience questions will last 60 minutes.
