Jackie Dorst (1.00 CE) COVID 19 changed orthodontic practice OSHA safety precautions. A Respiratory Protection Plan must be added to the OSHA Manual as well as the Hazard Plan, Infection Control Plan and General Safety Plan.

Safety Training must include safety for aerosol disease transmission. The SARs-CoV-2 virus aerosol disease transmission requires different PPE, employee wellness screening and patient scheduling for aerosol mitigation.

Jackie Dorst’s webinar updates the ortho team on the latest safety precautions to prevent aerosol disease transmission. During the COVID19 Pandemic, there has been an abundance of information from CDC, OSHA, and ADA. So much new information on this novel virus is confusing and scary. It’s important for the ortho team to understand what are the current facts and latest guidance for safe orthodontic care.

Jackie will share trustworthy information resources and record keeping forms to update the orthodontic team on Respiratory Protection and what must be included in the practice’s written Respiratory Protection Plan.

Learning Objectives:

  • List 5 airborne diseases that could be transmitted during orthodontic procedures
  • Distinguish between Standard Precautions, Contact Precautions and Aerosol Precautions
