Andrea Cook presents Sterilization, Organization and Efficiency in Today’s Orthodontic Office (1.0 CE), a must attend for Chair Side Assistants but beneficial for all Team members.

Today’s orthodontic teams are challenged with having the time, knowledge, and equipment to process instruments and achieve compliance with the CDC guidelines and sterilization protocols. From processing to storage there are multiple steps that must be included to ensure our instruments are safe for our patients. Clinical efficiency is greatly increased with proper storage and organization in your sterilization and clinical areas. Having everything your clinician needs during an appointment is critical to running appointments and your schedule on time.

We will review the current Guidelines for Infection Control in Dental Health-Care Settings, 2003 as well as the recent update to these guidelines. We will discuss tips and tricks to help make instrument reprocessing safe, fun, and effective for the orthodontic team!

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding the current CDC guidelines
  • How your team can comply with the guidelines
  • Evaluate your current organization and storage for increased clinical efficiency
