Description

We are practicing during an amazing time in the history of orthodontics. New technologies are emerging daily. Some of these innovations are merely hype, while others are incredibly powerful tools to improve the quality of our clinical care as well as our practice efficiencies and effectiveness. This lecture will explore an often-overlooked yet extremely important aspect of these emerging technologies. The modern, tech-savvy orthodontic patient now uses computers, media, and digital technology almost instinctively. Their view of the world is different from that of previous generations, and this difference affects their learning, interactions, and relationships significantly. As health care providers and members of the orthodontic team, we must learn to utilize technology in order to effectively connect and communicate with this generation in order to succeed both clinically and economically. You simply can’t afford to miss this!

Learning objectives:

  1. Discuss the significant impact that technology has had on the way the Modern Orthodontic Patient thinks, learns, and connects
  2. Explore some fundamental differences in the way Orthodontists and the Modern Orthodontic Patient view new technology
  3. Review some powerful orthodontic technologies with an emphasis on how we have used them to effectively connect with this generation and their parents achieve clinical excellence and economic success
