AS21B05 - Aging of the Occlusion: What Should We Know?

Jun 25, 2021 11:20am ‐ Jun 25, 2021 11:40am

Description

Life expectancy greatly increased in the last century. A deeper understanding of the maturational changes of the occlusion is the key to achieve post-treatment stability and more consistent treatment plans in adult patients. Three-dimensional changes of the untreated occlusion with aging will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:
  • Recognize the inter and intra-arch changes from 13 to 60 years in untreated individuals.
  • Demonstrate the impact of occlusal maturation on self-perception.
  • Define how the skeletal and facial changes relate to occlusal modifications during the aging process.
