AS21B60 - Mini-plates or Mini-screws? Indications, Problems and Cost/Benefit

Jun 27, 2021 11:20am ‐ Jun 27, 2021 11:40am

Description

Skeletal anchorage has become indispensable in modern orthodontics. Many orthodontists opt to use mini-plates while others prefer mini-screws as primary anchorage devices. This lecture will go over the indications of each modality, based on present scientific and clinical evidence, with clinical cases to illustrate their use. Problems and cost/benefit ratio will also be adressed.

Learning Objectives:
  • Recognize which anchorage device is better suited in each individual case.
  • Anticipate possible problems that may arise in each treatment choice.
  • Determine the cost/benefit of using either mini-plates or mini-screws.
