Description

This presentation will review the concept of using autotransplantation of teeth to treat growing patients who are missing teeth. Special emphasis will be made to guide the orthodontist in using this technique to replace missing and compromised anterior teeth. The orthodontist will learn when to consider the technique, how to work within a team to use the technique, and a specific protocol to follow for success.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify cases when autotransplantation of teeth should be considered as a treatment alternative.
  • Follow a specific timeline and protocol to ensure both aesthetic and functional goals are achieved.
  • Develop a team of dentists to work with and how to discuss orthodontic concerns with the team.
