Virtual Surgical Planning offers several benefits including the clear three-dimensional assessment of a patient’s anatomy, enhanced communication between providers and the patient, as well as a method to evaluate patient outcomes in all dimensions. This lecture will review the general virtual surgical planning process, how it differs from traditional pre-surgical preparation, and benefits associated with its utilization in orthognathic cases.
