This lecture provides an overview of how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data Analytics have evolved over the past few decades, their current applications in healthcare in general and orthodontics in particular, and future implications. AI and traditional models to examine outcomes will be compared and contrasted. Some of the Machine Learning approaches will be discussed.

  • Develop an understanding of how AI can be used in orthodontics.
  • Appreciate the advantages of AI approach to analyzing outcomes compared to traditional analytical models.
