We know that the primary breathing pattern is nasal breathing, not oral breathing. However, some kids that come to the orthodontic clinic sometimes have problems with nasal breathing. Then, they habitually breathe through the mouth. What’s wrong with oral breathing? This lecture shares the evidence of the significance of nasal breathing during growth period.

  • Identify the effects of oral breathing on craniofacial and body growth and function.
  • Evaluate the importance of nasal breathing for physiological maturation.
  • Comprehend why the mouth breather has to quit breathing through the mouth.
