This lecture presents an overview of the most cutting-edge science on high-performing teams. We no longer have to guess or wonder why some teams seem to have that magic "it-factor." Through an understanding of the research, we can identify the elements that make a team truly high-performing. In an increasingly difficult hiring market, it is to every orthodontist's advantage to invest in building strong and resilient teams where turnover is the exception and patient care is excellent.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify your team on a spectrum of team performance and develop an understanding of key measurable metrics that contribute to the team dynamic they currently have.
  • Identify the communication patterns of your team with an eye towards identifying the kind of communication that is predictive of high-performing teams.
  • Apply the data from the most up-to-date scientific studies on team performance to improve the energy, engagement, communication, and overall performance of your team.
