Risk Management is a key topic that not only doctors should be aware of, but also their team members. As you will see, team members do play a significant role in the practice's exposure to risk. This is especially true in orthodontics, where orthodontic auxiliaries often provide a significant portion of intra-oral procedures. And Risk management is far much more than avoiding malpractice lawsuits. This is especially true in orthodontics when the chance of a claim or a large settlement are much smaller than other areas of health care. Dr. Depew will share some valuable lessons and discuss other areas doctors and team members must be aware of to protect the doctors reputation and ability to practice and provide jobs for them.
Learning Objectives:
Identify areas of risk in the orthodontic practice
Name ways team member can affect the doctors reputation both positively and negatively
Identify methods and procedures that can be implemented to minimize risk
