Description

This presentation will address the indications and timing for phase II Class III treatment. Factors such as growth pattern, growth potential and the severity of the malocclusion affect the timing and treatment outcome with full fixed appliance. A checklist is necessary to improve successful outcome of phase II treatment. The speaker will use long-term treatment records to illustrate the decision protocol.

  • Recognize the importance of having a check list to make decision on phase II Class III treatment.
  • Identify the various factors such as growth pattern, growth potential and the severity of malocclusion that can affect the treatment outcome with phase II fixed appliances.
  • Identify what types of Class III patients will have a favorable outcome after phase II treatment.
