2019 Annual Session Conference

Esthetics in Orthodontics

‐ May 5, 2019 9:50am

The purpose and desire of all orthodontic treatments is to achieve a functional and esthetic smile. Nevertheless, this objective is not always reached. Albeit the professional has at his hands countless appliances and concepts to do so, facial limits, defined by their own archetypes, may hinder the appearance of a beautiful smile. In this presentation we will discuss what are the facial limits that prevent the achievement of esthetic smiles and what are the treatment possibilities to compensate for these limitations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the different facial archetypes and each limiting factor to achieve a beautiful smile.
  • Understand treatment modalities that are indicated to reach esthetic smiles.
  • Explain important diagnostic factors that define one smile for each face.
