The past two decades have seen a tremendous increase in the introduction of technology in the field of orthodontics. Rapid advancements and decreasing production cost for computer hardware and software, CAD-CAM appliances, 3D Imaging and 3D printing have made it possible to incorporate these technology into clinical practice. However, the current market is flooded with numerous 3D imaging software and printers all with promising claims. This presentation will filter through existing information and research, where applicable, to provide guidelines on selecting 3D printers and review the current and future applications of 3D printing.
