Deficiencies in transverse dimension for non-growing patients are usually managed with Surgically Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (SARPE) or Miniscrews Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (MARPE). This lecture will discuss findings from recent 3D clinical studies evaluating their efficacy as well as skeletal, dental and periodontal outcomes.
Decide between effective non-surgical and surgical management of transverse discrepancies in adults.
Evaluate the the skeletal and dental outcomes between SARPE and MARPE.
Identify potential complications in the treatment of posterior crossbites in adult.
