Description
Perhaps you have heard the phrase, “Patients don’t seem to cooperate anymore!” The idea that people lack motivation is actually a myth. Every action we take is driven by a desire to ‘achieve’ or ‘avoid’ something. Our opportunity as orthodontic team members is to create a spark in which people’s natural motivations propel them forward. Lori will share four principles that help create conditions that connect people’s internal motivators to becoming true partners in their orthodontic care.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the myths and truths of human motivation.
- Implement four guiding principles to encourage behavior change.
- Create a skillful clinical style of partnership between each patient and the orthodontic team.
