Virtual and Augmented Reality: The Future of CBCT Imaging

May 5, 2019 8:45am ‐ May 5, 2019 9:15am

CBCT imaging has revolutionized orthodontic and surgical diagnosis and treatment planning. Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality interfaces will revolutionize the way we look at CBCT Imaging. The impact has already been felt in Medicine and Radiology. Now, Dental and Orthodontic applications are being developed that will give us the tools to greatly improve research and clinical practice.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the difference between Virtual and Augmented Reality technologies.
  • Evaluate the impact of VR on the Radiology and Medicine.
  • Describe the use of Virtual and Augmented Reality in treatment planning for Orthognathic Surgery, Alveolar Cleft Bone Grafting, Implant, TAD and Skeletal Anchorage Plate Placement.
