Dr. Jane Yao finished her orthodontic postgraduate training and obtained PhD in Oral Biology at University of California, San Francisco, USA. Afterwards, she joined the orthodontic faculty at the School of Dentistry, National Taiwan University, Taiwan. Currently, she is the chairperson of the Orthodontic division. Besides teaching, Jane has also actively involved in research. Her main interests include studies on the cellular response to mechanical forces, and on the investigation of the mini-implants applied to animals or encountered in clinical situations. Her works have published in journals including Clinical Oral Implant Research, Journal of Dental Research, American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Angle Orthodontists, and Journal of Biological Chemistry.
