Dr. Lavrin grew up in both Melbourne and Hong Kong and received his dental education at the University of Adelaide. He completed a three-year orthodontic specialist program and masters at Harvard University. He has received numerous awards for scholastic and clinical excellence and has published articles in orthodontic and scientific literature. He has worked in private orthodontic practice in Massachusetts and lectured internationally in the US, Canada and Asia. He has taught orthodontics at Harvard University and in the Orthodontic Department at the University of Melbourne. He is on the Editorial Board of the Australian Orthodontic Journal. He holds professional memberships in the Australian Society of Orthodontists, the Australian Dental Association, the World Dental Federation, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Australasian Society of Lingual Orthodontics, and the Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics. He is a past President of the Harvard Club of Australia (Victoria) and a past Federal Treasurer of the Australian Society of Orthodontists. Dr Lavrin is a certified member of the Australian Orthodontic Board and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics.
