Dr. Chris A. Roberts DDS, MS

Dr. Roberts recently retired from his private orthodontic practice in Findlay, Ohio, which he opened in 1987. However, he continues to educate the next generation of orthodontists, serving as an adjunct professor and clinical instructor at the University of Michigan, Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry. He has been a faculty member since 1990. He received a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University, where he also received his DDS degree. He attended the Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester in New York, where he completed residency programs in general dentistry and orthodontics, as well as a research fellowship, and received a Master of Science degree in dental research. During his career, he has published articles in several peer-reviewed clinical dental and orthodontic journals. Dr. Roberts remains active in orthodontic leadership roles. He is co-director of the Graduate Orthodontic Residents Program (GORP), which brings together orthodontic students from the U.S. and Canada for an annual meeting that fosters professional growth and interpersonal relationships among colleagues and representatives of the orthodontic industry. In addition, Dr. Roberts sits on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Orthodontists Insurance Company. Dr. Roberts is a past president of the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists (GLAO), the Ohio Association of Orthodontists, as well as the Hancock County Dental Society. He is active in the World Federation of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Ohio Dental Association. He served as president of the Blanchard Valley Dental Study Club from 1990 to 2013. He has given generously of his time to his community through the Findlay/Hancock County Community Development Foundation, serving on its Board of Directors; and through the Findlay Rotary Club, as a long-standing member and officer. Dr. Roberts is active in the United Way of Hancock County, and his church. In his spare time, Dr. Roberts enjoys traveling, spending time with grandchildren, and of course, running. Dr. Roberts joined the AAO Board of Trustees in 2011 and currently serves as the 2020-2021 AAO Immediate Past President.
