Laurance E. Jerrold DDS, JD

Dr. Laurance Jerrold is the Chair of Orthodontics at NYU-Lutheran Medical Center, and the Director of the Advanced Education Residency Program in Orthodontics. Prior to coming to Lutheran, he was the former Dean and Program Director of the School of Orthodontics at Jacksonville University, the Program Director at the Orthodontic Program at St. Barnabas Hospital, and Program Director of the Post-Doctoral Orthodontic Program at NYU College of Dentistry. Before committing himself to a career in academia, he was in the private practice of orthodontics and law on Long Island, NY. He received his DDS as well as his Orthodontic Specialty Certification from NYU College of Dentistry. A firm believer in education he received his JD from Touro University, and his Certificate in Bioethics and the Humanities from Columbia University. When he became Board Certified in Orthodontics he was recognized as the world's first 3rd generation board certified orthodontist. His background includes 25 years in the private practice of both orthodontics and law, and over 15 years in full time academia teaching orthodontics, clinical bioethics, and engaging in post-doctoral educational administration.
