Dr. Louis E. Costa DMD, MD

Dr. Costa graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, in 1974. He received his D.M.D. degree from the Medical University of South Carolina as first honor graduate and recipient of the “Golden Hands Award” in 1979. He went on to complete his Oral and Maxillofacial surgery training at the Medical University of Alabama, College of Dental Medicine. He attended medical school and received his M.D. degree from the Medical University of Alabama and was the recipient of The Special Award for Academic Scholarship graduating with a 4.0 GPA. He subsequently performed his internship in general surgery and his head and neck surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Costa completed his academic training with a fellowship in Plastic Surgery through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Costa is a clinical professor of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the Medical University of Alabama and a clinical professor in Plastic Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. In private practice, he is the Director and Chief Surgeon of the Southeastern Facial Plastic/Cosmetic Surgery Center. Dr. Costa lectures extensively across the nation on the interdisciplinary treatment of facial aesthetics. His practice is limited to facial plastic surgery and he performs over 700 procedures annually. He is the intermediate and past president of South Carolina Board of Medicine. He is Board Certified in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
