Jin Hee Kwak DDS, MS

Jin Hee Kwak, D.D.S., M.S., is an Assistant Professor and Clinic Director of the Section of Orthodontics, Division of Growth & Development, UCLA School of Dentistry. She is an ABO Diplomate and a recipient of fellowship awards from the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation and a K08 award from the NIDCR. Dr. Kwak’s clinical activities include practice of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics not only in the residents’ clinic and the faculty practice at UCLA, but also where she could bring future bench work to bedside - at the UCLA Pediatric Craniofacial Clinic, the most renowned craniofacial clinic in the West Coast. In addition to clinical practice, she has been involved extensively in translational research in the field of skeletal tissue engineering since 2009. Her current focus of research is the development of local and systemic NELL-1-based therapeutics for the treatment of osteoporosis and for the improvement of post-surgical bone healing in medically compromised patients. She is the Project Manager for the NASA project and is in charge of the daily operations.
