Ms. Alex Campau BA, JD, MPP

Alex Campau serves as Managing Director and Director of Health Policy at Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies (CPS). Alex, along with Meagan, represents AAO before the U.S. Congress and Executive Branch on issues ranging from direct-to-consumer medical care, to student loan reform, to small business issues, to health care access and savings vehicles. Before joining CPS, Alex served in various roles in the federal government. She worked in the U.S. House for Congressman Tom Price, M.D. on the House Committee on the Budget. In this role, Alex advised Chairman Price and committee members on federal health care spending and policy. Alex also worked in the U.S. Senate, for Senator John Barrasso, M.D, who is the current Republican Whip, when he was Chairman at the U.S. Senate Republican Policy Committee. In that role Alex advised Chairman Barrasso and the Senate Republican Conference on federal health care policy, drafting policy papers and vote recommendations, and working with leadership and authorizing committees on health care policy and messaging. Alex then worked on the Department of Health and Human Services’ “Beachhead Team,” where she was a member of a team of policy advisors who went into the Department on day 1 of the first Trump Administration to ensure a smooth transition, and then served at the White House Domestic Policy Council as Special Assistant to the President for Health Policy. Alex is a graduate of Tufts University, Georgetown University Law Center, and the Georgetown McCourt School of Public Policy.
