Arlen Hurt has been involved in the orthodontic laboratory for the last 38 years. He is the inventor of several products in the market such as the MiniScope Herbst, M-4 Herbst, AppleCore Screws, Several Mini-style expansion screws, the TAD Plant, and orthodontic appliances. He has worked with 3D scanning, printing of models and appliances. He is currently working on 3D printed metal appliances, splints, indirect bonding trays and a 3D wire bending machine. Currently, he is Vice President of Specialty Appliances, the largest orthodontic digital laboratory in the country. Additionally, he is the 2022 President of the Georgia Dental Laboratory Association.
