Dr. Bingshuang Zou DMD, PhD

Dr. Bingshuang Zou earned her PhD and completed combined orthodontic specialty training at Peking University. Following graduation, she joined the faculty at Peking University and later at the University of British Columbia, where she has remained actively involved in research, teaching, and clinical practice. Her research portfolio is diverse, encompassing 3D imaging for precise diagnostics, the application of AI and machine learning for personalized treatment planning, the development of innovative biomaterials to enhance clear aligner therapy, and the assessment of diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes in orthodontic-orthognathic care. She has also investigated the impact of airway conditions and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) on orthodontic treatment, as well as temporomandibular joint disorders, underscoring the interdisciplinary scope of modern orthodontics. More recently, Dr. Zou’s primary research focus centers on biomechanics and the advancement of biomaterials in clear aligner therapy.
