Dr. David Tesini recently retired after 45 years from the private practice of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. He received his DMD and MS at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM) and completed his Fellowship in Pediatric Dentistry at the Boston Floating Hospital for Children. He holds a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, Scotland. He is past President of the American Academy of Dentistry for Patients with Disabilities. He is also Founder and Past President of Project Stretch: Dentistry Reaching Out to Children, a non-profit foundation serving dental needs of poor children in this country and abroad; over 35,000 patients have been treated by Project Stretch since started in 1988. He presently Serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Tesini has published papers in numerous peer reviewed dental journals and contributed text and chapters in texbooks and monographs. He lectures both nationally and internationally in areas of special patient care, oral-myofunction, growth and development and behavior management. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and served as its Parliamentarian of the AAPD. He was the 2016 AAPD recipient of the Merle C Hunter Leadership Award and has served on the Lowe Association Medical (LSA) Medical & Scientific Advisory Board since 2011. Most recently, he has lectured and published on the importance of pacifier design and sizing in its functional requirements to preserve the palatal width.
