Dr. Derya Germec Cakan DDS, PhD

Dr. Derya Germec Cakan graduated from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Dentistry, Ankara, Türkiye, in 1999 and received a PhD in Orthodontics from the same institution in 2005. In 2015, Dr.Germec Cakan completed an observership at the Craniofacial Center of Seattle Children’s Hospital, USA. She is currently a Professor and the Head of the Department of Orthodontics at Yeditepe University, Istanbul. Dr. Germec Cakan has served as the Past President of the Turkish Orthodontic Society, is a member of the Executive Committee of the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), and also serves on the Executive Committee of the Turkish Cleft Lip and Palate Association. She is the former Editor-in-Chief of the Turkish Journal of Orthodontics. Her principal areas of interest include cleft lip and palate, craniofacial anomalies, and interdisciplinary treatment approaches.
