Dr. Emile Rossouw BSc, BChD (Dent), BChD-Hons (Child Dent), MChD(Ortho), Cert (Ortho), PhD, FRCD(C)

Dr. Rossouw has been associated with academic and clinical orthodontics in various capacities for the last 40 years. He has served as a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa; the Department of Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada; the Department of Orthodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas, Texas, USA; Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthodontics, University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA; and presently is Professor and Chairman of the Division of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, University of Rochester Eastman Institute for Oral Health, Rochester, NY, USA. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, has served as Director of the Burlington Growth Center at the University of Toronto and is American Board of Orthodontics Certified. Dr. Rossouw serves as a Director of the American Board of Orthodontics; presently President-elect. He has also served on AAO Councils, namely council on Scientific Affairs (COSA), Council on Orthodontic Education (COE) and Planning and Awards Review Committee (PARC). He also represented the AAO on the ADA Scientific Committee on Dental Products (SCDP). Dr. Rossouw has contributed more than 200 publications to the dental literature, which include scientific articles, abstracts and chapters in books. Dr. Rossouw has lectured nationally and internationally. He is a member of many associations and societies, amongst them the well-respected Tweed Foundation, where he has served as clinical instructor, as well as the Angle Society of Orthodontists. He serves on the reviewing panels for various orthodontic and general dentistry journals and has been a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) site visitor. He maintains a part-time University Faculty Clinical Practice.
