Mr. Jay Garvey MEd

John (Jay) Garvey is in his 20th year at the Milton Hershey School where he currently serves as Manager of Family Relations and New Student Transitions. Jay has over 30 years of experience with students and their families as a residential caseworker, teacher, guidance counselor, and administrator in both public and private educational settings. Jay has developed and delivered workshops on: Homesickness, Engaging Families in Student Success, and How to Deal with Difficult People. Jay has BS in Secondary Education from Old Dominion University, and a M.Ed in Counseling and Development from George Mason University. Additionally, Jay has completed graduate course work in Community Agency Counseling as well as Educational Administration. Jay is a guest lecturer every year at the University of Pennsylvania's Orthodontic Program, providing insight on this very topic.
