Dr. Jeremiah Sturgill DMD, MPH, DHEd
Dr. Jeremiah Sturgill grew up in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, and was inspired early on by how braces transformed his own smile—an experience that shaped his passion for helping others feel confident through orthodontic care. After earning academic scholarships to King University in Bristol, Tennessee, he graduated with honors in biology and business administration. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine and Master of Public Health from the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health, followed by a residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and a Doctorate in Health Education. Dr. Sturgill is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction achieved by fewer than half of orthodontists. In addition to clinical practice, he serves as an Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he helps train future orthodontists. He also consults with practices nationwide, guiding growth, marketing, and team culture development. As owner of a multi-location, five-doctor practice serving Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, Dr. Sturgill leads offices in Johnson City, Bristol, and Norton. His team provides comprehensive orthodontic care—including traditional braces, clear aligners, surgical orthodontics, and TMJ/TMD management—while maintaining a patient-centered focus on comfort and connection. Known for his precision, approachability, and humor, Dr. Sturgill believes the best results come from a strong culture that empowers both patients and team members. Outside the office, he and his wife Riley enjoy traveling, skiing, and raising their four children, while staying active in their church and community.
