
Dr. Lorenzo Franchi DDS, PhD
Dr. Lorenzo Franchi completed his dental education in 1989 and his PhD in Preventive Orthodontics in 1997, both at the University of Florence. In 2008, he specialized in Orthodontics at the University of Rome Sapienza. Dr. Franchi is currently a Full Professor of Orthodontics, Dean of the School of Dentistry, and Director of the Postgraduate Orthodontic Program at the University of Florence, Italy. He also serves as the 'Thomas M. Graber Visiting Scholar' at the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he has collaborated with Dr. James A. McNamara since 1995. Dr. Franchi has lectured at numerous international conferences on orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics and has published extensively, with over 300 articles in international orthodontic journals. He previously served as Editor of Progress in Orthodontics and is currently an Associate Editor for both the European Journal of Orthodontics and Progress in Orthodontics. Dr. Franchi is also the current President of the Italian Society of Orthodontics.
