In recent years, the prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has increased significantly. Patients with ASD and/or ADHD may have specific dental and behavioral attributes, especially in children, which require special attention from health care providers. Children and teenagers are the major patient population for orthodontic practice.
