Richard Bloomstein DDS, CertOrtho

Dr. Richard Bloomstein graduated from New York University Orthodontic Program in 1974. Has seen many changes in the practice of orthodontics through the years. He was one of the first to use bonded brackets that he fabricated, to now, custom brackets from 3D printing, and aligner therapy. Having been in private practice for 50 years, he is now teaching full time at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine as an Associate Professor, Vice-chairman, and Assistant Program Director in the Orthodontic Department. Dr. Bloomstein continues to practice one half day a week in the Rutgers Faculty Practice facility. His current research involves accuracy of 3D printing, strength of novel bonding materials, x-ray dosage, accelerated orthodontics, and the effectiveness of a novel orthodontic toothbrush.
