Dr. Sarah Abu Arqub BDS, MSc, MDentSc

Dr. Sarah Abu Arqub earned her Master of Dental Science (M.Dent.Sc.) degree and Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, Farmington, Connecticut, in 2022. She is a Board-Certified Orthodontist by the American Board of Orthodontics and currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Florida. Dr. Abu Arqub is actively engaged in multiple research initiatives with a strong focus on clinical and evidence-based orthodontics. Her research interests include clear aligner therapy, temporary anchorage devices (TADs), systematic reviews and meta-analyses, artificial intelligence in orthodontics, teledentistry and remote dental monitoring, clinical trials in aligner therapy, and more recently, the impact of social media in orthodontics. She has authored over 78 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, including the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (AJODO), Progress in Orthodontics, the European Journal of Orthodontics, The Angle Orthodontist, Journal of Dentistry, and Orthodontics & Craniofacial Research. Her scholarly work has accumulated more than 1,200 citations. She is the developer of the patented educational artificial intelligence platform OrthoQA and has secured more than six funded research projects through Align Technology, University of Florida Seed Grants, and the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation (AAOF). Dr. Abu Arqub has published five book chapters in collaboration with internationally recognized leaders in orthodontics, including Professors Ravindra Nanda, Nick Vaid, and Flavio Uribe, and she is deeply committed to international and collaborative research. She serves as a peer reviewer for several leading orthodontic journals, including AJODO, AJODO Clinical Companion, European Journal of Orthodontics, The Angle Orthodontist, and Progress in Orthodontics. In addition, she serves as an Associate Editor for Progress in Orthodontics, an Editor for Seminars in Orthodontics, and an Associate Editor for Digital and Aligner Orthodontics and Journal of Clinical orthodontics. Dr. Abu Arqub currently holds an adjunct faculty appointment at the University of Jordan. She is nominated to serve as Secretary of the ADEA Orthodontic Section for 2026 and was awarded the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) Most Cited Research Article Award in 2026.
