Dr. Shivam Mehta BDS, MDS, MDentSc

Dr. Shivam Mehta is the Program Director and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, and he also practices at an orthodontic clinic in Mansfield, Texas. A dental graduate from India, Dr. Mehta earned his Master’s degree and Certificate in Orthodontics in 2015, followed by a one-year Fellowship in Recent Advances in Orthodontics at the University of Illinois, Chicago, in 2018. He subsequently joined the University of Connecticut, where he completed a dual degree program, earning a Master of Dental Science and a Certificate in Orthodontics in 2021. Dr. Mehta’s research focuses on Mini-Screw Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (MARPE), orthodontic tooth movement, and artificial intelligence applications in orthodontics. His scholarly contributions include over multiple publications, grants, and scientific presentations, often in collaboration with world-renowned researchers. His work has been recognized with numerous awards, such as the AJODO Cover Feature, the Wayne G. Watson Award for Biologic or Experimental Research, the Thomas M. Graber Award of Special Merit from the American Association of Orthodontists, and the T.M. Graber Outstanding Article Award from the Journal of the World Federation of Orthodontists.
