Dr. Shivam Mehta BDS, MDS, MDentSc

Dr. Shivam Mehta is a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University, School of Dentistry, and practices at an orthodontic clinic in Mansfield, Texas. He is a dental graduate from India. He also obtained his Master’s degree and certificate in orthodontics from India in 2015. In 2018 he completed a 1 yr. Fellowship program on Recent Advances in Orthodontics at University of Illinois, Chicago. Following his fellowship, he was invited to join the University of Connecticut for a dual degree/certificate program and graduated in 2021 with a Master of Dental Science and certificate in orthodontics. Throughout his career, Dr. Mehta has excelled in research fields of Mini-Screw Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (MARPE), Orthodontic Tooth Movement, and Artificial Intelligence with more than 51 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 27 published abstracts, 7 grants, and 28 scientific presentations in collaborations with world-renowned researchers. He has received funding for his research with multiple grants from different institutions such as the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation (AAOF), Northeastern Society of Orthodontists (NESO), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), and National Science Foundation (NSF). His articles have been awarded 2024 March AJODO cover feature, 2023 Wayne G. Watson Award for Biologic or Experimental Research, and 2021 T.M. Graber outstanding article award from the Journal of World Federation of Orthodontists. He has been the recipient of Thomas M. Graber Award of Special Merit from the American Association of Orthodontists in 2022.
