
Sunil Wadhwa DDS, CertOrtho, PhD
Columbia University College of Dental Medicine
Dr. Wadhwa received his PhD and orthodontic certificate from the University of Connecticut, after which he remained at University of Connecticut as the Charles Burstone Assistant Professor. In 2011 he assumed his current position as the director of orthodontics and associate professor at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. His research focuses on the biology of tooth movement and the role of estrogen in mediating temporomandibular growth and degeneration. Aside from his research pursuits, Dr. Wadhwa also serves as the academic committee chair of Align Technology and is immediate past president of the craniofacial biology group for the International Association of Dental Research. He is a recipient of the Milo Hellman Research Award from the AAO.
