The Changing Landscape in Orthodontic Admissions will review what has been learned about a virtual admissions process and where we anticipate to go from here. The program will be lead by moderator, Dr. Kelton Stewart, Chairperson of Orthodontics and Oral Facial Genetics and Director of Orthodontics, Indiana University School of Dentistry and will include a distinguished panel;

  • Dr. Negin Katebi, Interim Program Director of Orthodontics at Harvard School of Dental Medicine
  • Dr. Hera Kim-Berman, Director of the Graduate Orthodontic Program, University of Michigan School of Dentistry
  • Dr. Ben Pliska, Associate Professor at UBC Faculty of Dentistry
  • Dr. Chad Rasmussen, Program Director and Vice Chair of Education & Research, Mayo Clinic Dental Specialties

This 75 minute program will be a face-paced discussion starting about the last two admission cycles including looking at what worked, what did not work, what was learned, and what, if any of the process will schools use in the future?

To take the conversation on the future of admissions, the panel will discuss several topics, including;

  • Metrics that are used for reviewing applicants and the benefits of the process
  • The MATCH program ... Benefits? Drawbacks? Why has it become a must for schools to participate in?
  • How do you identify potential applicants that are both qualified and interested in your program?
  • What are schools other deciding factors, are GRE/ADAT being used, GPA/class rank matter, the weight of INBDE?

And, more ...
