In this session, we will analyze the key aspects of orthodontic associate employment contracts and practice purchase transactions. Emphasis will be placed on standard nationwide levels of associate compensation and fringe benefits and covenants not to compete, as well as the importance of the initial employment contract making some reference to the possibility of an equity buy-in. We will also briefly discuss how practices are valued, why the buy-in transaction is a can’t miss business opportunity, and how the key issues of compensation, voting and buy-outs tend to be handled in group practices.
