I'd Like to Treat This Non-extraction, BUT ...

The decision to extract or not should be based clear and reasonable treatment objectives. This lecture will discuss evidence-based treatment goals, and the appropriate treatment options to achieve them. The debate between extraction and non-extraction is over. And the winner is ... the patient.

Learning Objectives:

  • Evidenced-based soft-tissue treatment goals
  • Treatment planning to achieve the ideal profile
  • How growth affects your decision
Case Report: To Extract or Not To Extract, That is the Question

This lecture will attempt to illustrate the goals that should be considered when a treatment plan is devised. One of the patients whose records will be shown has now been treated three times by the age of 20 years. The patient sought a facial change and got it the third time. The other patient had a much more severe problem but the extraction decision was not easy. The case reports will be used to illustrate important guidelines that, if used, would make the extraction decision easier

Learning Objective:

  • Simple guidelines to achieve pleasant facial esthetics
