This lecture will illustrate the effect of dento-facial orthopedics and functional jaw orthopedics on airway volume.

  • Recognize airway obstruction.
  • Evaluate airway volume.
  • Apply appropriate mechano-therapy to improve airway volume and respiratory function.

Is Board Certification Necessary for an Orthodntist?

This lecture will outline the importance of achieving the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) certification upon graduation from a CODA approved orthodontic residency program.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the esoteric reasons for a graduating resident’s need for Board certification.
  • Analyze the skill sets of professional self-assessment.
  • Manage the quality of patient care by his/her regular re-certification.
