3D Guided Maxillary Skeletal Expansion (MARPE/SARPE) in Adults and Young Adult Patients
Date
April 23, 2023
Around 50% of Dr. Perez Varela's patients are adults. An elevated percentage of these adult patients and young adults who come to our practice have a severe malocclusion. Around 30% of these patients have a maxillary skeletal hypoplasia. In this conference, he is going to present a group of adult patients and young adults with a transversal deficiency treating all of them with different options but focusing the attention on the use of 3D technology to develop a bone supported customized espander, 3D guided, with bicortical engagement, that can be installed in one single appoinment with high predictability. Also in some of this adult patients with transversal problems we are going to describe a protocol with loscal anesthesia and sedation in combination with skeletal anchorage to be more predictable.
Learning Objectives
Perform a 3D design of a Skeletal Expander.
Identify the goals when treating a maxillary hypoplasia.
Implement the clinical protocol to treat an adult patient with maxillary hypoplasia.
