How to Control Vertical Dimension in Severe Deepbite Cases: How to Prevent Anterior Gingival Recession

Date
June 26, 2021

Risks of anterior gingival recession when treating deep bite cases with severe crowding and Class II molar relationship can never be underestimated. Moreover, with the use of Class II elastics in such cases, the risks of gingival recession are inevitably increased when one tries to correct the crowding. To avoid such risks, it is critical to plan the final positions of the anterior teeth, both upper and lower, with special care. In this lecture, I will explain how to utilize anterior intrusion as a preventive measure for risk mitigation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Improve severe deepbite cases.
  • Avoid anterior gingival resession.
  • Recover anterior gingival resession.
