Ideal Occlusion is Not Always the Ideal Treatment Plan

Date
June 25, 2021

As orthodontist we measure the facial balance and skeletal base of our patient’s dentition in detail. When these measurements are not ideal and the patient is not willing to do surgery, how we then customize our orthodontic objectives and orthodontic treatment plan is the real art of orthodontics. Ideal occlusion is not always the Ideal treatment plan for the individual patient.

Learning Objectives:

  • Customize orthodontic objectives for patients with non-ideal skeletal balance.
  • Adapt appropriate aligner bio-mechanics to produce proper force systems.
  • Achieve healthy stable results in less treatment time.
