This program, sponsored by the AAO Insurance Company (RRG), will discuss the development of malpractice claims from the activity performed by the orthodontic staff. From communication, to patient records, to performing clinical procedures, staff is involved with patients and treatment. Staff can cause and/or prevent malpractice claims against the orthodontist. Attend this program to learn about current claims and how to prevent them. Elizabeth Franklin, claims manager for AAOIC, will summarize real malpractice claims that have been impacted by orthodontic staff. She will discuss staff behavior and practice activity that can minimize or preclude the development of a claim. There will be a Q&A session to discuss questions about the program material or any office problems.
