The timing of orthodontic treatment in adolescent patients plays a significant role in planning and achieving a stable and esthetic outcome. A review of the literature provides current information on the various methods available and their accuracy in predicting skeletal maturation.

This lecture will aid each clinician in appropriately selecting the indicator which provides the most accurate skeletal age assessment in treatment planning.
