Date
May 5, 2019

The orthodontist is often called when a patient experiences dental trauma. Unfortunately, the orthodontist has probably received the least amount of trauma training on the team. This lecture will review the essential information an orthodontist should have when treating a patient with a traumatic dental injury or the patient in orthodontic treatment that has just sustained an injury.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify waiting times to start orthodontics after traumatic dental injuries.
  • Be an informed member of a trauma team. You will be able to identify appropriate treatment options for a patient with a history of trauma.
  • Manage a traumatic injury to one of your orthodontic patients.
