Date
May 21, 2022
White spot lesions are a common esthetic issue we face in dentistry, affecting many patients, especially those receiving orthodontic treatment. Treatment strategies tend to involve restorative techniques, which involves removal of tooth structure and possible need for their future replacement. This presentation explores the results of a split-mouth clinical trial which studied the effectiveness of a less invasive strategy to treat white spot lesions: the usage of MI Paste Plus, with and without microabrasion.
Learning Objectives:
To understand the etiology, clinical presentation, prevalence, and structural aspects of white spot lesions.
To describe the existing white spot lesion treatment options available and their respective advantages of disadvantages.
To identify a less invasive white spot lesion treatment option through the usage of MI Paste Plus, with and without microabrasion, and when to implement it.
