Dr. Shannon Sullivan, MD, Sleep Specialist, Stanford Medicine and Dr. Kasey Li, MD, DDS, FACS present the Diagnosis of Sleep Disordered Breathing -- What Orthodontists Should Know (1.25 CE). With the increased awareness of OSA, it is important for the orthodontist to improve their knowledge in managing patients with OSA. The objective of this seminar is to introduce the use of sleep studies in patient care. Various types of sleep studies will be discussed.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Discuss epidemiology and presentation of OSA and UARS
  • Describe the medical work-up for Sleep Disordered Breathing (referrals, screening, testing)
  • Be familiar with OSA severity criteria, different types of sleep studies and how it may influence therapeutic decision-making
